TCM for Holistic Eye Care & Eye Wellness

Relieve Digital Eye Strain.
Reduce Eye Bags & Dark Circles.

Whether you’re experiencing digital eye strain from prolonged screen use or under-eye concerns such as dark circles and eye bags, our personalised TCM treatments work to restore internal balance, relieve eye fatigue, and restore healthier vision and eye wellness from within.

How Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) helps manage eye strain and under-eye concerns?

While many treatments provide temporary relief, PULSE TCM takes a holistic approach by addressing the underlying internal imbalances behind eye strain and under-eye concerns. With TCM treatments, we restore internal balance, improve Qi, blood circulation and support healthier eyes.

The Path to Vibrant, Clear Eyes

Our programme is guided by the TCM principle of “Regulating the Interior to Brighten the Exterior.” In TCM, healthy eyes are closely linked to the Liver system, which is believed to nourish the eyes and support clear, comfortable vision.

By assessing your unique body constitution, our TCM physicians uncover the underlying internal patterns and tailor personalised treatments to restore harmony within the body, promoting healthier eyes and overall wellbeing.

Rebalance Your Body’s Ecosystem

Target specific organ meridians—particularly the Liver and Spleen—to help reduce fluid retention and minimise puffiness naturally.

Natural Circulation Support

Relieve Qi stagnation and enhance microcirculation to help ease eye strain and reduce the appearance of dark circles naturally.

Physician-Led Care

Safe, holistic, and evidence-based clinical consultations designed to manage your eye wellness and restore long-term vitality.

Our TCM Approach to Radiant, Rested Eyes

Our physician may recommend a combination of the following based on your assessment:

Acupuncture for Eye Rejuvenation

A dual-action treatment that combines targeted facial acupoints for eye-specific concerns with body acupoints to restore internal balance, cool internal heat and relieve eye strain from within.

Lymphatic Eye Gua Sha

A gentle, cooling therapy that promotes healthy lymphatic drainage to help reduce puffiness, minimise the appearance of eye bags, and soothe tired eyes after prolonged screen use.

Customised Herbal Prescriptions

Bespoke herbal formulations prescribed by our physicians to address systemic deficiencies. By nourishing Liver blood and strengthening Spleen Qi, these customised blends support healthier eyes and overall eye vitality.

Your Eyes Care Roadmap

Every treatment brings you one step closer to healthier vision, reduced eye strain, and brighter-looking eyes.

Here’s what you can typically expect throughout your personalised TCM eye care journey:

Phase 01

Relieve & Comfort

This initial phase begins with an assessment of your unique body constitution, followed by targeted treatments to relieve eye fatigue. Combining eye rejuvenation acupuncture with targeted Eye Gua Sha helps promote healthy lymphatic drainage, reduce puffiness, and restore eye comfort.

Phase 02

Once surface discomfort is relieved, the focus shifts to restoring your body’s internal balance. Your physician may prescribe customised herbal formulations tailored to address the underlying factors contributing to persistent eye concerns, helping restore the natural vitality.

Phase 03

The final phase focuses on building resilience against ongoing screen fatigue and natural ageing. Treatments shift towards supporting internal balance, maintaining skin elasticity, and promoting long-term eye wellness through periodic maintenance sessions and personalised eye supplements.

Note: This treatment roadmap serves as a general guide. The recommended treatment plan, number of sessions, and treatment frequency will be personalised by our TCM physicians based on your unique body constitution, eye concerns and severity.

Frequently asked questions

How can TCM help improve eyesight and relieve digital eye strain?

Prolonged screen use can strain the small muscles around your eyes and, in TCM, is believed to deplete “Liver Blood”, contributing to dry eyes and temporary blurry vision. TCM treatments stimulate targeted acupoints around the eyes to relax tense muscles, improve local blood circulation to relieve digital eye strain.

How many sessions are needed to see improvements in dark circles and eye bags?

Many patients begin to notice visible improvements after 6–8 treatment sessions. Your physician will typically recommend weekly appointments initially, with the frequency adjusted based on your progress.

Is Gua Sha painful, and will it cause bruising around my eyes?

Not at all. Eye Gua Sha is a gentle and deeply relaxing therapy. Using a smooth gemstone tool with light pressure tailored specifically for the delicate eye area, it helps encourage lymphatic drainage and improve circulation without causing pain. Mild, temporary pinkness may occur as circulation increases and typically subsides quickly.

Can I take this eye care programme if I recently had aesthetic treatments like Botox or dermal fillers?

If you have recently received fillers, Botox, or laser treatments around the eye area, we generally recommend waiting at least 2 weeks before starting localised treatments such as Eye Gua Sha or facial acupuncture.

Please inform your TCM physician during your consultation so they can determine the appropriate waiting period and tailor your treatment plan according to the type of aesthetic procedure you received and your stage of recovery.

Are customised herbal prescriptions necessary?

Not always. Herbal prescriptions are recommended based on your body constitution, symptoms, and treatment goals. Your TCM physician will advise whether herbal medicine is suitable as part of your personalised treatment plan.

Is the eye care programme suitable for seniors?

Yes, this programme is well suited for seniors.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), natural ageing is believed to be associated with a gradual decline in Kidney Essence and Liver Blood, which may affect eye hydration and muscle elasticity. Using personalised TCM treatments, the programme supports both the Kidney and Liver systems, helping ease chronic dryness while promoting healthier vision and long-term eye health.
