What do I need to take note of before my appointment?
Wear comfortable clothing that can be adjusted easily, and remove accessories. We can provide a change of gown if needed.
What can I expect during an acupuncture session?
You start with a consultation covering your health history and concerns. You then lie down comfortably while the practitioner inserts thin, sterile needles into specific points on your body.
Is acupuncture safe? Does it hurt?
At PULSE, acupuncture uses sterile needles with a trained practitioner and is generally considered safe and low risk. Needles are hair-thin (about 0.12–0.30 mm); a typical injection needle is around 0.9–1.3 mm. Most people feel little lasting discomfort. Occasionally you may notice brief nausea, dizziness, bruising, or slight bleeding at an insertion site. Tell your physician before treatment if you have an alcohol allergy.
How long does each session take?
Each visit usually takes about 30–60 minutes, including consultation and acupuncture.
What should I take note of after acupuncture?
Rest and avoid strenuous activity for the rest of the day when you can. Ask your physician for post-treatment notes tailored to your condition.
How much does acupuncture cost at PULSE?
Sessions start from $60 for a physician consult plus acupuncture when that is the confirmed plan. GST applies. Herbal medication, if prescribed, is charged separately.
