The General Health programme at PULSE TCM is physician-led care for sub-health and longer-term vitality patterns, when you feel constantly fatigued, bloated, poorly rested, or run down despite normal check-ups. The programme

Understanding sub-health: when your body feels "off"

Feeling constantly fatigued, bloated, or stuck managing a long-term concern? This pathway looks beyond surface symptoms to the internal pattern, then builds a personalised TCM plan after consultation.

In TCM, everyday wellness relies on smooth flow of qi and Blood, alongside harmony among the organ systems. Stress, irregular meals, or lifestyle pressure can tip you into sub-health, where you feel out of sorts without a single clear Western diagnosis. Your physician names patterns such as Spleen and Stomach disharmony, Liver qi stagnation, or systemic weakness in plain language, then chooses modalities that clear stagnation, support digestion, or tonify where energy is low. At PULSE, MOH-registered physicians also refer to Western care when acute change or specialist monitoring comes first.

Approach to healing

Therapies used in general health plans

Your physician recommends a combination based on your assessment. Not every visit uses every modality.

Fine sterile needles at selected meridian points after consultation, used to support nervous-system regulation, circulation, and organ-system balance when they fit your pattern.

Your recovery roadmap

A journey from foundation to maintenance

Restoring internal balance is a journey of consistency. The phases below are a general guide. Session count, frequency, and pace are customised after your initial clinical assessment.

  1. Foundation

Identify your constitution and ease primary discomforts. Targeted acupuncture with safety-regulated herbs when indicated helps clear stagnation, settle inflammation signals, and shift the system toward rest and repair. Focus: active bloating, acute fatigue, or poor sleep. Frequency: once or twice weekly. Many people notice better digestive comfort, initial sleep quality, and a gradual lift in daily energy.

  2. Vitality

Deepen care toward root patterns such as long-term Spleen qi deficiency or Liver qi stagnation. Plans refine organ support, circulation, and metabolic rhythm so sub-health symptoms are less likely to rebound. Focus: rebuild stamina and resilience. Frequency: weekly or fortnightly. Sustained energy, fewer digestive flare-ups, clearer focus, and steadier stress tolerance often feature here.

  3. Maintenance

Shift from active correction to seasonal or monthly tune-ups so systems adapt to lifestyle stress, diet shifts, or age-related change. Focus: preserve rhythm and quality of life. Frequency: once or twice a month, physician-advised. Goal: lasting digestive comfort, steady energy, and balanced daily function.

Why patients choose PULSE

  • MOH-registered, bilingual physicians

TCMPB-registered under MOH. English and Mandarin care across the network.

  • Pattern decoded before needles

Pulse, tongue, and the Four Examinations name organ imbalance and circulation blockages in plain language.

  • Root-pattern plans, not surface fixes

Care addresses qi deficiency, dampness, and stagnation that leave the body feeling constantly run down.

  • Adjusted as your baseline improves

Plans evolve with energy, digestion, and sleep; referral when Western specialty care is safer first.

From the clinic

  • Suboptimal health often shows up as fatigue, digestion trouble, and unrefreshing sleep. Naming the pattern early lets us rebuild a baseline before those signals harden into something harder to change.

FAQs

General health questions, answered

Timelines, burnout, Western medicines, sensation, herbs, and when this pathway fits.

How soon can I expect to feel a difference in my symptoms?

Initial shifts, such as better digestive comfort or a slight lift in daily energy, are often noticed within the first 3 to 5 sessions (Foundation phase). Longer-standing sub-health or chronic fatigue typically needs a fuller course, often around 10 sessions, to rebuild baseline vitality. Your physician sets a realistic pace; results vary.

Can TCM help with severe work burnout, chronic lethargy, and body stiffness?

From a TCM perspective, burnout and chronic fatigue often link to Liver qi stagnation and Spleen qi deficiency. Care focuses on clearing blockages, regulating the nervous system, and supporting circulation to ease physical tightness and mental exhaustion. Suitability is confirmed after consultation.

I am on Western prescription medication. Can I still do TCM?

Yes. Our registered physicians routinely design complementary protocols beside conventional treatment. We usually recommend about a two-hour gap between Western medicines and safety-regulated herbal prescriptions for absorption, unless your physician advises otherwise. Do not stop prescribed medication without your medical doctor's advice.

Is acupuncture for general health or sub-health balancing painful?

We use ultra-fine, single-use sterile needles. Most people feel a brief tap on insertion, then a dull, heavy, or tingling sensation known as De Qi. Many find sessions deeply relaxing and sometimes fall asleep.

Why are safety-regulated herbs included alongside clinical acupuncture?

Acupuncture is strong for nervous-system regulation and immediate circulation support. Custom herbal medication acts as daily internal support between visits, nourishing depleted organ systems and clearing fluid dampness when that fits your pattern.

Is this programme a replacement for specialist Western medical treatments?

No. It is designed to complement, not replace, conventional Western medicine. It focuses on systemic wellness, preventative care, and sub-health conditioning. For acute emergencies or sudden medical change, seek conventional care immediately.

How do I know if the General Health Programme is right for me?

If you constantly feel "off," with persistent sluggishness, unrefreshing sleep, or slow digestion despite normal check-ups, you may be in a sub-health state. This pathway suits people seeking proactive rebalance, lifestyle-stress support, or complementary senior vitality care after a physician assessment.

How can I book for the programme?

Use the online booking form, WhatsApp, or phone. Select General Health as the concern and Sub-Health & Chronic Conditions as the service interest when prompted.
