Guan Yuan (CV4), Tai Xi (KD3), and San Yin Jiao (SP6) suit most constitutions. Add pattern points when your physician has named Liver Qi stagnation, Dampness-Heat, Qi and Blood deficiency, or Qi and Blood blockage.
In brief
Three points suit most constitutions: Guan Yuan (CV4) on the lower midline abdomen, Tai Xi (KD3) between the inner ankle and Achilles tendon, and San Yin Jiao (SP6) about four finger-widths above the inner ankle. Press and rub in a circle for two to three minutes, twice daily, until a dull soreness appears. Add pattern points only when they match your signs.
Routine
On the lower abdomen midline, about three finger-widths below the navel (roughly 3 cun). Press and circle for two to three minutes. Suitable for most constitutions.
In the depression between the tip of the medial malleolus and the Achilles tendon. Circle kindly for two to three minutes each ankle.
On the inner lower leg, about four finger-widths above the tip of the medial malleolus, just behind the shin bone. Circle kindly. Avoid strong SP6 pressure in pregnancy unless a physician has advised it.
When irritability, frequent sighing, or partner-linked erection with preserved sleep erections dominate: LR3 on the top of the foot between the first and second metatarsal bones; PC6 on the inner forearm about three finger-widths above the wrist crease between the two tendons.
When moist itchy scrotum, amber urine, or bitter mouth dominate: SP9 in the depression below the medial tibial condyle; CV2 on the midline just above the pubic bone (about 5 cun below the navel).
When fatigue, pale complexion, or poor appetite dominate: CV6 on the midline about 1.5 cun below the navel; ST36 about four finger-widths below the outer kneecap, one finger lateral to the shin crest.
When chronic disease history and a dark tongue with patches dominate: LR3 as above; SP10 on the inner thigh about two finger-widths above the medial superior border of the kneecap.
