Tai Yang (EX-HN5) at the temples, Feng Chi (GB20) at the nape, He Gu (LI4) in the hand webbing, and Tou Wei (ST8) at the hairline corners. Soft locate-and-press when mild headache or feverish head feel sits after a jab.
In brief
For mild post-vaccination headache or feverish head feel, TCM often reads a short Tai Yang heat challenge. Circle Tai Yang (EX-HN5) at the temples and Feng Chi (GB20) in the nape hollows for three to five minutes. Add He Gu (LI4) in the hand webbing and Tou Wei (ST8) at the forehead hairline corners. Skip He Gu in pregnancy. Stop on sharp pain. Seek urgent care for high fever, stiff neck, worst-ever headache, or neurological red flags.
Routine
Find the depression between the outer end of the eyebrow and the outer eye corner, then move slightly back into the tender temple hollow. Circle gently for three to five minutes, or until the ache eases. Often used to expel wind-heat at the surface.
Interlock both hands and hug the base of the skull. Place the thumbs in the hollows between trapezius and sternocleidomastoid. Circle gently for three to five minutes each side when wind-heat sits at the nape.
Soft-fist one hand. On the back of the hand, press the tender hollow beside the second metacarpal at mid-shaft, in the thumb-index webbing. Thumb-massage both sides for about one to two minutes. Skip He Gu in pregnancy.
Locate the corners of the forehead hairline, about half a finger-width inside the hairline above the temples. Circle softly for about one to two minutes each side when frontal tightness sits with the ache.
Ease off if the press turns sharp, the skin is broken, or numbness spreads. Seek urgent help for sudden worst-ever headache, high fever with stiff neck, vision loss, weakness on one side, or headache after trauma.
Try today Circle Tai Yang and Feng Chi three to five minutes, then He Gu and Tou Wei, when a mild heaty head ache builds after vaccination.
