Yellow chrysanthemum and honeysuckle tea for wind-heat

Yellow chrysanthemum (黄菊花, Huang Ju Hua) dispels wind-heat. With Japanese honeysuckle, malva nut, mint, and a little licorice, this is a classic kitchen steep when a heaty cold is coming on.

In brief

In TCM, a wind-heat cold often shows as feverish feel, sore throat, cough, or headache. Yellow chrysanthemum with honeysuckle, malva nut, mint, and licorice is educational food therapy for those signs. It is strongly cooling. Do not use it long term.

FAQs

Quick questions

Can I drink this tea every day?

No. It is a short reset for wind-heat signs, not a standing habit. Daily strong cooling teas can weaken the Spleen and leave bloating or fatigue, especially if you already run cooling.

Is this the same as mulberry chrysanthemum tea for cough?

No. Mulberry leaf, chrysanthemum, burdock seed, and peppermint is a different wind-heat cough brew. This cup adds honeysuckle, malva nut, mint, and licorice for a coming-on heaty cold. Use the one that matches the signs in front of you.
