The steps

  1. Zu San Li (ST36) · 3–5 minutes

    足三里. Three cun (about four finger-widths) below the base of the patella, one finger-breadth lateral to the anterior tibial border. Thumb-press and massage three to five minutes on each leg.

  2. Feng Long (ST40) · 3–5 minutes

    丰隆. Eight cun above the tip of the external malleolus, two finger-breadths lateral to the anterior tibial border. Thumb-press three to five minutes. ST40 is a classic phlegm-clearing point on the Stomach channel.

  3. Tian Shu (ST25) · 3–5 minutes

    天枢. On the middle of the abdomen, two cun (about three finger-widths) lateral to the umbilicus, both sides. Thumb-press three to five minutes.

  4. Da Heng (SP15) · 3–5 minutes

    大横. On the middle of the abdomen, four cun lateral to the centre of the umbilicus, both sides. Thumb-press three to five minutes.

  5. Dai Mai (GB26) · 3–5 minutes

    带脉. Directly below the free end of the eleventh rib, level with the umbilicus, both sides. Thumb-press three to five minutes.

  6. Shui Fen (CV9) · 3–5 minutes

    水分. One cun above the umbilicus on the midline. Thumb-press three to five minutes. Soft pressure only; stop over pain or a very full stomach.

  7. Zhong Wan (CV12) · 3–5 minutes

    中脘. Two cun above the umbilicus on the midline. Thumb-press three to five minutes. Soft pressure only after a large meal.
