Ingredients

  • winter melon with skin 500 g
    冬瓜
  • Chinese barley 60 g
    薏米, Yi Yi Ren
  • dried lotus leaf 12 g
  • lean meat 250 g
  • water 1.5 litres
  • salt 1 teaspoon
  1. Cut the melon

    Cut the winter melon into large cubes, retaining the skin.

  2. Rinse and bag

    Rinse all ingredients with water. Place the lotus leaf into a filter bag.

  3. Combine

    Put all ingredients into a pot with 1.5 litres of water.

  4. Simmer

    Boil on high heat, then reduce to medium-low and cook for 1 hour.

  5. Season

    Turn off the heat and season with 1 teaspoon of salt.
